Friends of the US 36 Bikeway is a new 36 Commuting Solutions program created to inspire a cycling culture within the US 36 corridor. This group unites cyclists, businesses and governments to promote cycling as a viable travel option, advance cycling education and advocate for continued improvements to the US 36 Bikeway.
This program launched on June 1 and is open to local cycling enthusiasts, businesses, governments and sustainable transportation advocates. This is a chance to share your passion for cycling and to give back to both your local community and the cycling community. Your involvement will help educate the public on safe cycling, create opportunities to involve new cyclists and make sure that the US 36 Bikeway receives future improvements, all while having fun!
We are looking for volunteers to lead rides, help organize and participate in seasonal bikeway clean ups, report issues along the bikeway and interface with local governments to discuss improvements. Sign up now to get started!
“My first commute from Boulder to my office in Broomfield on the US 36 Bikeway was incredible. The protection from traffic, unique views, and well placed interconnections with local trails made this one of the least stressful and most enjoyable commutes I’ve had. As both a cyclist and car owner, the completion of the Bikeway makes the decision to ride a lot easier.”
