Goldfish Swim School

In Superior Since 2019

Goldfish Swim School
Goldfish Swim School, a kid-centric swim school, is a franchise that is family-, women-, and locally-owned by Superior residents Binny and Tom Tercek with out of town partners Scott and Christy Paine, who also own three other Goldfish Swim Schools, one in Pennsylvania and two in Maryland. People are drawn to Goldfish Swim School in Superior because of the facility’s organization and cleanliness, their welcoming demeanor, and the Swim Instructors’ personal touch and strong work ethic.

After the Marshall Fire that struck Superior and Louisville December 30, 2021, co-owner Christy Payne said: “We will rebuild, restore, and stay safe together for a strong future as a superior community!” With 27 employees, they survived a three-month closure during the Covid-19 Pandemic, and they will come out stronger after the devastating fire. Their commitment to the community is admirable. Knowing how all their Boulder County members were affected in some way by the fire, they were welcomed back with open arms free of charge for the month of January. The owners figured that if Goldfish could offer a weekly respite from the chaos, then they would do it for free. Additionally, all their members that were displaced due to the fire received February lessons free thanks to the generous donations from across the country to their #SponsorASwimmer campaign. While they do not know how long these donations will support free lessons for the displaced swimmers, the fund continues to grow daily, and Goldfish Swim School is honored to be a part of such a large initiative. They hope that the community can feel the love too!

Keeping the Goldfish Crew afloat was the company’s priority during the Covid-19 shutdown and the Marshall Fire closure, paying full wages to all employees without hesitation. The team held zoom calls to “check-in” and played online games to stay in touch until the business could reopen. Because safety is their number-one priority, Goldfish Swim School invested in a HALOsil Fogger, a hospital-grade hydrogen peroxide full facility misting system, to work instep with the top-of-the-line air sanitation system installed throughout the facility. The fogger, and other safety and sanitation policies, ensure that the facility is among the safest locations for kids’ sports activities in the county!

Keep Up with Goldfish!
