Opening Keynote Speaker

Michelle Lucero

Chief Administrative Officer, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary (and of course the Chief Flashmob Officer) for Children’s Hospital Colorado

About Michelle

Michelle has the best job in town as Chief Administrative Officer, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary (and of course the Chief Flashmob Officer) for Children’s Hospital Colorado. Before joining Children’s, she held some pretty rad jobs with fancy and damn impressive titles with Centura Health, the City and County of Denver, US West, and Denver Health. Michelle truly believes it’s an obligation to give back to the community.

As such, she’s blessed to serve on the Boettcher Foundation Board of Trustees, the Denver Art Museum’s Marketing and Strategic Alliance Committee, and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science’s President’s Leadership Council. Michelle is also the co-chair of United States Senators Michael Bennet and John Hickenlooper’s United States District Court Judicial Advisory Committee. Michelle wore “Roadrunner Red” as past Chair of the Board of Trustees for Metropolitan State University of Denver, was named to the Denver Chamber of Commerce Leadership Foundation Board for a six-year period and served on some other pretty amazing boards and taskforces. Globally she is a board member of the Papua New Guinea Tribal Foundation doing “change the world” kind of work with an amazing team in a beautiful country.

Michelle’s leadership is expanding to governance on corporate boards. She is an Independent Director for the Board of Directors of COPIC Companies and a member of Vectra Bank Advisory Board.

Over the years she also received some rocking accolades, like the 2023 C-Suite “Trailblazer” from Denver Business Journal; 2022 “Power Award” from Girls Athletic League School (“GALS”); 2021 “Raising the Bar” Award from the Colorado Women’s Bar Association Foundation; the 2020 “Athena Award” given by Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce; 2019 Top 100 Influencers (Law Executives) in the United States – named by National Business Journals’: 2018 Denver Business Journal (DBJ) C-Suite Awards; 2017 “Outstanding Woman in Business (Law)” by DBJ; 2016 “Business Woman of the Year” by Colorado Hispanic Chamber of Commerce; 2016 “Outstanding Corporate Counsel” by University of Colorado School of Law; 2015 Trailblazer Honoree by Latinas First Foundation; CWCC 2015 “25 Most Powerful Women in Colorado, and 2013 Girl Scouts’ “Woman of Distinction”. Inspirational and life experience infused story telling is Michelle’s jam.

She also delivered a TEDx Talk in November 2023 on “Urgency as a Virtue”. Michelle has delivered keynote addresses focusing on leadership, mentorship, organizational culture, and women’s empowerment to groups such as MBA Research & Curriculum Center, the Denver Art Museum, Denver Scholarship Foundation, Vectra Bank, Metropolitan State University of Colorado, Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce, Colorado Hispanic Bar Association, the national Women in Leadership organization, and the Denver Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation. Michelle was invited by the US Embassy for Papua New Guinea to be one of the keynote speakers at both the 2017 and 2016 PNG Women’s Forums. Michelle is also a founder and partner in the consulting firm Edgefinders, LLC.

Her biggest accomplishments have been her three wonderful humans, her children, Jordan, Alex, and Noah. Oh, and she loves her Jeep and the places it can go.

Are You Running Your Business or Is It Running You?

Presented by Melanie Towey, Certified EOS Implementer® at EOS Worldwide

Are you a business owner or a senior-level executive and want to see your business consistently run better and grow faster? This talk delivers a powerful, inspirational presentation that will introduce you to the Six Key Components of a successful business. Many of the most successful entrepreneurs and business leaders work longer hours and get less return on their investments of time and money. In your business, perhaps you grapple with challenges such as a lack of control over time, markets, or your company, dealing with individuals who don’t listen, understand, or follow through, encountering inconsistent or insufficient profitability, experiencing growth without being able to break through to the next level, and facing quick fixes that come and go, providing little change and continued frustrations.

As a Certified EOS Implementer, Melanie acts as a teacher, coach, and facilitator — helping business leaders transform their companies and, ultimately, their lives. This talk introduces The Entrepreneurial Operating System® (EOS®), a comprehensive business operating system that aligns and synchronizes all of the parts of the business. Using a proven process that has been implemented in tens of thousands of companies around the world, this talk helps leadership teams get better at three things:

• VISION: Getting everyone in your organization 100% on the same page with where you’re going, and how you plan to get there.
• TRACTION®: Instilling discipline and accountability throughout the company so that everyone executes that vision — every day.
• HEALTHY: Helping your leaders become a more cohesive, functional, healthy team.

After this talk, you will walk away with a set of simple, practical tools that you and your leadership team will use immediately to focus on priorities, get clear on issues, and gain traction together, as a healthier leadership team.
