Executive Director T.J. Sullivan announced today that he has accepted the position of President & CEO with the Parker Chamber of Commerce and will conclude his employment with the Superior Chamber on July 30.

Sullivan was hired by the Superior Chamber’s board of directors in January 2019 to modernize the chamber.  During his 2.5 year tenure, Sullivan guided the Superior Chamber toward new branding, a 3-year strategic plan, the creation of an annual food drive, increased municipal funding, greater participation in advocacy work, a revamped awards program, the creation of the Welcome to Superior Guide, and significant improvement to board structure and operations. He also leaves the Chamber in a stronger financial position.

Using the “3C Chamber” model, he moved the Superior Chamber toward a more clear role as a catalyst for business growth, a convener of community leaders and influencers, and a champion for Superior’s business and professional community. In 2020, the Association of Colorado Chambers of Commerce (ACCC) named Sullivan the state’s “Chamber CEO of the Year” for his innovative work during the COVID pandemic.

“The leaders of the Superior Chamber gave me the opportunity to reset my career and put my leadership skills to work in a new industry. I’ll always be grateful for the support I’ve received from the Superior community and for the opportunities the Superior Chamber gave me,” Sullivan said.

“During T.J.’s tenure, he has revitalized the chamber, streamlined our processes, and made us a much stronger organization,” said Stephanie Miller, chamber board president. “His contributions have been invaluable, and he’s certainly leaving big shoes to fill. No doubt, he has great things in store, and we wish him all the best!”

The chamber will release a job announcement for Sullivan’s replacement in the coming days with a goal of a new executive beginning in mid-August.  Sullivan has committed to helping the chamber complete a successful transition.
