Every year, the Superior Chamber of Commerce gives $1,000 scholarships to deserving seniors graduating from local high schools.  The funds for these scholarships come from our members and from fundraising programs throughout the year, including our Online Silent Auction.

Here are a few things you should know about our scholarship program.

You don’t have to have a perfect GPA to get one.  While certainly the Selection Committee enjoys seeing academic success from applicants, a perfect GPA is not a decisive factor.  The most decisive factor is the thoughtfulness of the essay.  This year, applicants are being asked to identify a change brought on by the COVID pandemic and how the Chamber and the local economy should cope with the change.

You can go to any high school.  There is a perception that Chamber scholarships are only awarded to graduating seniors from Monarch High School. In 2019, the Chamber specifically made the scholarships available to any senior who lives in Superior, regardless of what high school they attend. We care about where you’re headed much more than where you’ve been!

The scholarships are not need-based.

You don’t have to be going to college.  We realize that there are many outstanding students making decisions other than traditional four-year colleges. If you have plans to keep learning after high school, we can help you get there.

We want to know what your favorite thing about Superior is.  We think Superior is a pretty special place, and we want to know the thing you like best about our Town.  The Selection Committee loves to know what has shaped you, growing up in Superior.
