Business Licenses
New for 2025, all Business Licenses applications must be mailed in with a check.

Please note:  The Town of Superior Board of Trustees recently adopted an Ordinance amend its business license application process to comply with Senate Bill 22- 032.

Businesses are no longer required to apply for a business license if they are a:

  • Nonprofit corporations or businesses, excluding federal, state, and municipal corporations
  • Businesses without a physical presence in the Town
  • Businesses with only an incidental physical presence in the Town

Section 11-5-30 of the Superior Municipal Code requires a Mobile Vendor for all vendors selling goods in the Town of Superior.

Pursuant to Section 16-6-140 of the Superior Municipal Code, proprietors of home occupations are to submit a completed annually to the Town Clerk.

    Pulling a Permit

    All building permit applications must be submitted electronically through the CommunityCore permit portal, managed by the Town’s Building Department and operated by SAFEbuilt.

    Paper submittals are not accepted. Plan review fees must be paid before any reviews can begin. Paying all building permit fees does not grant the right to start work; approval from the Building Department, Planning and Zoning, Public Works, and Fire Prevention is required. The permit will be emailed to you or your contractor once all reviews are complete.

    Complete Permit Submittals Criteria

    A Permit is Required for:

    • Roof replacements or repairs
    • Supplemental Roof Information
    • Insulation installation (see “Permits for Insulation Replacement” section below)
    • Decks
    • Additions
    • Retaining walls over 4 ft. tall
    • Installation of water heaters (expansion tank required if backflow is on system)
    • Furnaces and air conditioners
    • Basement finishes or remodels
    • Structural repairs
    • Replacement of windows
    • Detached accessory structures greater than 120 sq. ft. (per Superior Municipal Code)
